Is that an earthquake? Nope, it’s just the sound of our stomachs rumbling. Can you blame us? If you had access to all of these delicious Laramie, WY restaurants, your stomach would be grumbling too!

Wyoming may be known for its wide-open skies and beautiful nature, but as locals, we believe that the amazing food is not to be missed. Whether you are a longtime resident or traveling through, you’ll find no shortage of great food in Laramie. But how do you choose which one to go to?

We’ve got you covered. We’ve tried them all and compiled the best restaurants into this handy dandy list that will have you ready to tuck into a delicious meal right away.

1) Born in a Barn

It wouldn’t be Wyoming if we didn’t bring some good, ol’ fashioned cowboy flair to the dining experience. Born in a Barn is a local treasure that does just that. You’ll find all of the classics here, such as quarter-pound burgers, wings, and hot dogs. But you’ll find plenty of surprising twists, as well, such as the beloved “Barnchos,” which are tater tots topped with queso, smoked pork, and all of your other favorite toppings.

2) Anong’s Thai Cuisine

You might not expect to find authentic Thai food in Wyoming, but that is exactly what you will get at Anong’s Thai Cuisine! You’ll find plenty of familiar flavors, such as crab rangoon, pad Thai, and Thai fried rice, but if you ever felt like trying something new, this would be the place to do it! 

We love the salmon greeny curry, with a fresh filet of salmon served with a spicy curry sauce. Looking for something light and soothing? The Tom Ka soup, with its coconut cream and chicken broth base, is not to be missed!

3) Sweet Melissa

When you think of Wyoming, we know you think of restaurants serving up sizzling steaks before you think of vegetarian options. But that’s not the case at Sweet Melissa! This vegetarian and vegan haven serves up delicious and creative food options that will appeal to even the most stubborn meat eaters. 

You’ll find unique combinations such as the jerk ravioli, served with pineapple and fried plantains (just trust us here). We also wouldn’t pass up the caramelized onion and goat cheese burger, available on either a house-made black bean patty or an Impossible patty.

4) Alibi Wood Fire Pizzaria & Bakery

Who doesn’t like pizza? You’ll like it even more after visiting Alibi Wood Fire Pizzaria & Bakery! In addition to classic flavors like sausage, spicy pepperoni, and Margherita, you’ll find unique toppings on ‘zas such as the Cowboy Beef brisket pizza with bechamel, brisket, and a horseradish cream and honey drizzle. 

All of their pizzas are served on their chewy house-made crust, cooked in a blisteringly hot oven. Looking for an early morning treat? Stop in to pick up some of their pastries, including cardamom buns, Pain aux Chocolates, and assorted Danish!

5) Altitude Chophouse & Brewery

This wouldn’t be a list of the best restaurants in Laramie if we didn’t include a classic chophouse! And Altitude Chophouse & Brewery is the perfect place to get the true Wyoming experience. You’ll find good food, excellent service, and award-winning brews all at one stop! 

Start your meal off with an artichoke and heart of palm dip before digging into their 10 oz. ribeye steak seasoned with their signature cowboy rub. Don’t worry, vegans! There are choices for you two, including delicious black bean tacos and a southwest-inspired burger. Finish off your meal with a local brew made in-house!

6) J’s Prairie Rose Cafe

J’s Prairie Rose Cafe has been one of the local’s favorite restaurants for almost 17 years! You’ll notice it by its bright pink exterior, but this gem gets even better inside. Between the great service and delicious food, it’s easy to see why this is a go-to place for Laramie residents. In fact, it’s so beloved that it was featured on the TV show “Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives!” Favorite dishes include their breakfast burrito, with eggs, hashbrowns, beans, and shredded pork, as well as freshly baked cinnamon rolls.
